My added two cents…

I noticed the Windows Experience number now has a cap of 7.9, but my new 1 TB drive can only chin-up to 6.0.  Considering the Processor and Graphics numbers are 7.9, I have to imagine that Microsoft is leaving some performance head-room for memory (my three DDR3 strips get a 6.5) and the primary hard-drive.

I did a fresh install of WIndows 7 (x64 ) on a brand-new system and encountered an expected installation situation — Not all of the drivers provided by the motherboard manufacturer would install as they did not recognize Windows 7 as a valid operating system version.  Two drivers specifically stated that I had to have XP or Vista and canceled their installations on the spot.  This has left a couple of “System Interrupts” with yellow tags in the Device Manager.

I am sure the driver issues will be taken care of as each device manufacturer steps up to make sure their supported devices have working drivers and installs for Windows 7.  Since I am running under 64-bit, driver signing is just as important as having a driver that supports Windows 7.

My goal for one Windows 7 install is to do some development work oriented to the Microsoft Azure Services.  I believe that Azure is a “Game changing” platform and I am going to re-focus a couple of personal web-projects towards it to really get a better feel for what Azure brings to the table and, more importantly, what is not quite there.
